Category 6 Outdoor Rated cable is perfect for high bandwidth aerial installations. UV rays present in sunlight can tear down PVC material and create gaps in the outer jacket, which introduces moisture to the center conductors. To combat this, the jacket is made with LLDPE (Linear low density polyethylene) material, which is much tougher than PVC based materials. Excessive pulling tension often results in warped or broken conductors. To eliminate this, the cable comes with an extra strength Messenger wire that withstands the excessive pulling tension, making this cable suitable for pole-to-pole installations. Made of solid copper conductors to meet and exceed ANSI/TIA cabling standards.
Solid or Stranded?
Solid Cable is recommended for internal use, such as in between walls, between wiring closets, and for lengths over 25 feet. Recommended for use up to 100 meters (328 feet).
Stranded Cable is flexible alternative to solid cable. It is most commonly used to connect PC's and other end devices to routing devices in residential locations. Because of higher attenuation (signal fall-off) it is best for use in runs of 25 feet or less.
